Heritage Education is the use of local cultural and historic resources for teaching the required curricula of grades K-12.

Activities, lessons plans, and units of study focus on, but are not limited to, architecture, archaeology, cemeteries, documents, folk ways, objects and artifacts, community and family history, photographs/portraits, historic sites, museums, and the urban and rural landscape.
